Emily Cox – Emily@missiodeislc.com
Missio Kids Director
Emily was proudly born and raised in Track Town USA, the land of Prefontaine and ducks. For you laymen, that’s Eugene, Oregon. She called Eugene home until she married Jeremy, a Georgian-Texan-Washingtonian-Oregonian fellow.
Later, they moved to Seattle and eventually to Portland, Oregon where they attended Imago Dei Community and heard that Kyle Costello was leading a team of folks to Salt Lake City to plant a new community in the urban core of the city. Eventually, Emily and Jeremy loaded up their three kids (Cole, Aviana, Alidia), pets (dog, 2 gerbils, a fish, a frog, and 5 chickens) and hit the road for Utah.
At Missio Dei, Emily is responsible for all things kids. She’s a huge advocate for our kids playing an important role in our community. While Missio does provide care for the kids while parents are in corporate worship, she hopes to bring much more to the time teachers have with Missio’s kids. She aims to provide age appropriate lessons telling the greatness of Jesus and the reason we worship him.
Emily prays that Salt Lake City would defy the negative stereotypes that surround it and break free from the negative opinions that have been formed about it. She hopes to see Missio Dei come together and serve Salt Lake City by making relationships with in the city. And through those relationships we could bless the city and advocate for its well-being.
In her spare time you might see Emily gardening, sewing, reading or running around Rose Park or chasing her children around town.
