Throughout the Bible God reveals himself as a God who doesn’t choose sides with anyone but rather asks us to follow him and his way.  In a world that often wants to use labels like liberal, conservative, religious, or irreligious  we will seek to center our lives around prayer and discussions of theology in an attempt to shed labels and seek God’s truth in how we are to worship him, love our city, nourish our relationships, and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Night of Prayer and Story: As a community we come together on the last Thursday of every month for, A Night of Prayer and Story.  We spend the evening praying with and for one another, listening to stories of life change and transformation, and seeking God’s guidance for our community.  We begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8 pm.  We meet in our Missio Dei Community Space at 170 East 1st Avenue. in the heart of Salt Lake City.

Theology Forums

Theology forums are often centered around one or a combination of our core values; Truth, Incarnation, Community, and Worship and are taught by members of Missio Dei Community and partnering churches.  Forums vary so check back often for new offerings.

Gospel Defined: The second Friday of every month at 6 a.m. the Men of Missio Dei are invited to gather together to share breakfast with one another, discuss scripture, and pray with one another.  Each meeting will begin at 6 and end promptly by 7:30 to allow for work schedules.  

The Elephant Room: Calling all theology enthusiasts, Bible geeks, or anyone who has thoughts and questions about the Bible, and wants to grow in that knowledge.  Starting on Tuesday, March 27th (and continuing on the last Tuesday of every month) we will be gathering once a month to discuss specific topics within Christianity, where we get the practices we practice, and why we live our lives the way we do.  We will first watch a video debate from a conference called the Elephant Room.  We will then moderate our own discussion on the same topic.  We will hold it at the Missio Dei Community Space starting at 7pm and anyone is welcome to come.  We will have coffee and water, but if you want to bring food feel free to pack it in.  Here is a link to check out the Elephant Room videos and what it is all about – http://vimeo.com/21069804.  If you have any questions please email kyle@missiodeislc.com.
