Our study will look at specific meals to see who he is teaching, what he is teaching, and how that affects us today.

THIS SUNDAY: New Location and Time for our Worship Gathering!
We will be moving to a new location for our Worship Gathering starting this Sunday, October 30th.  The Post Theater will be our new location at 245 South Fort Douglas Blvd. (It’s about 1/4 of a mile south of the Post Chapel.) Along with our location change, we will be changing our meeting time from 4 PM to 10:30 AM.

Night of Prayer and Story: CANCELLED
Our monthly Night of Prayer and Story was scheduled for this Thursday, but has been cancelled for this month.

Ambatana Threads
Ambatana Threads is a local handmade clothing business designed to employ and utilize the business skills and creative ideas of refugee women.  They are working on a large wholesale order that needs to be ready by Friday and are in need of volunteers to help with ironing, pinning, sewing buttons, and packaging the products.  Please contact Stefanie at ambatanathreads@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out!

The Avenues House Church will meet at our community space this week. (170 E. 1st Ave)

Parent Speak
Within the English language there are thousands of different dialects. Some are rooted in location, “y’all”, while others with age, “gaga googoo” (no babies ever say that, but you get the point).  Parent Speak is a time for parents to share struggles, dreams, hopes, and advice with others who speak the same language.  We will spend time talking about how our kids are a part of the community and encouraging each other in the discipleship and raising of our children to be healthy followers of Jesus. Our first meeting will be Monday, October 17th @ 7:00 PM at the community space (170 E. 1st Ave).  If you need child care or if have any questions please contact Joe@missiodeislc.com.

More news from Holding Out HELP
HOH is seeing an incredible influx of people leaving the FLDS Community.  As one former FLDS member said, “It is a living hell in here!” He has left with his entire family this last week along with his brother’s entire family.  In addition, we have 2 young men in need of homes along with 3 more on their way to Utah. One of the boys is only 14 years old and his parents are bringing him down tomorrow.

Please keep these boys in your prayers along with HOH to be able to provide the resources needed for them to get back on their feet. In addition, spread the word of more support needed, especially a boys and girls group home.

Join us for an evening of prayer and stories about how God has moved in the lives of our community. This prayer night will be held at the Missio Dei Community office space (170 E. 1st Ave) at 6:30 PM on Thursday, September 29th. Holding Out HELP
HOH is an organization serving individuals and families living in or desiring to leave polygamist communities. Their Race for HELP 5K and Kids Fun Run will be on October 1st and is a great way for families and individuals in our community to support this amazing organization! Also, an update from Holding Out HELP’s Director..
We have youth and young adults coming out of the FLDS in droves as the community is very unstable since Warren Jeffs was sentenced.  It is clear we need apartments, homes, and/or a boarding home ASAP!  While we figure that out, we are in need of homes to house many new people.

Two are over 18 and just need some time to get on their feet. They have been out for a while and need a good mentor and steady guidance in order to move forward.

We just got a call from a young man who wants to leave Colorado City as soon as possible, as well as a young girl who may be leaving soon.

Please keep these kids and HOH is your constant prayers.  We need God to take the wheel and show us what direction he wants us to go.

This Thursday, August 25th, will be our monthly Night of Prayer and Story.  Please join us at 6:30 PM in the Post Chapel for a time of corporate prayer and sharing of stories of how God is moving in our community.  IF YOU WILL BE NEEDING CHILDCARE, PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL TODAY!

Sunday, September 4th Location Change
Due to a scheduling conflict, on September 4th we will have our worship service in the Post Theater, instead of the Post Chapel.  The Post Theater is on the same street, just south of the Chapel on the east side of the street.  Missio Kids will join us for worship, as usual, and will then head out with their teachers.

Holding Out HELP
Thank you to all who have been willing to open up your home to the 15-year-old boy we mentioned last week.  He has actually decided to stay home with the intention of possibly leaving in a month or so.  Your continued prayers for him and his family are much appreciated.

Another prayer request from Holding Out HELP:
“We do not normally post names, but she requested that we use it. Auralee called very upset and is struggling with her sister wife.  She has asked for prayers that her husband would be able to afford a separate home for her and her children.  She hopes that he will understand that although she reached outside her community for help, she did it as a last resort to save her marriage. Please pray for her and her children’s safety.  She is in a hotel and her husband is unaware of where she is at.  We have pulled in a counselor for help and are hoping we can help her figure out what her next steps will be.  She has 3 beautiful children and literally has no transportation or money.  We have been able to give her a little money and some food to help.”

Got extra space in your garage?
Might sound like a strange question, but we are looking for a place to store our 5×8 foot trailer that is used to transport equipment and supplies to and from the Chapel on Sundays.  Anyone with extra room in your garage please reply!

As much as we are on mission we are also the mission. We are in a relationship with a missional God who seeks to redefine our culture’s idea of mission. As much as we seek to share the gospel in our city and world, God is shaping us as much as he is using us to shape others.
