Jesus loved genuinely, everyone, including those who were difficult to love. He died because of evil, he called out evil in others, but clung to good in his Father. He loved with brotherly affection and honored others to the point where he washed their feet. His passion put him on the cross.

Global Day of Prayer: THIS SUNDAY
An opportunity to praise, petition and wait on God with hundreds of Christians of various nationalities around the world, and specifically with our refugee and immigrant friends among the valley.  Join us at Calvary Baptist Church (1090 S State St, SLC) THIS SUNDAY, from 6:00-8:00pm, with fellowship and culturally distinct “refreshments” to follow.

Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30.  This house church rotates monthly between two different homes in the Millcreek area. Email annaburhans@gmail.com for the current address. We share a meal together each week at 6:30.

As Christ followers we often ask how. How can I have a good marriage? How can I be discipled? How can we as a church be on mission? Not that those questions are bad, but often they are asked because we believe that we can muster up the energy or expertise to answer them on our own. We ask them with little regard or a serious focus on the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus leaves he says that one greater than even he is coming; the Holy Spirit. It can be tough for our minds to wrap around, but its God’s spirit that is going to bless his people to answer those questions we are always asking. Its through and depending on the Holy Spirit that we are going to be able to be discipled, be good husbands and wives, and serve and love our city.

Remember that old saying, a little goes a long way? Well, we’re testing it out in a new way. Every Sunday folks in the community have the opportunity to drop a single dollar bill into buckets on the communion tables. That money then goes to someone in need who is not part of Missio Dei Community. Then, a few Sundays after that, we get to hear stories about where our change went and how it blessed people in our city.

This is a community endeavor.  All of the stories will be surfaced by people in the community and the money will be administered by people in the community, but it will be given to people outside of Missio Dei.  It is our goal to have our Change 4 a Dollar account empty at the end of every month.  If you have a story that you would like to share please submit it to your House Church leader or email change4adollar@missiodeislc.com.

Missio Kids Volunteers Needed
With more and more kids joining us in Missio Kids and many of our volunteers being gone for the summer, we are looking for more folks to step up and volunteer! There are many ways to serve in Missio Kids including checking kids in, playing with toddlers, teaching preschool or school aged kids, and serving as a teacher’s helper. If you are interested in serving or would like more information please email jessica@missiodeislc.com.

Men’s Breakfast: May 11th
Our next men’s breakfast will be Friday, May 11th. This will be a time to share breakfast, get to know one another more, and dig into scripture to see how responsibly we are communicating.  The gathering will be led by Jeremy Cox and Kyle Costello and will be held at the Hillcrest Space (170 East 1st Ave). We will begin with Breakfast at 6 am and then begin our discussion at 6:30.  We will finish up by 7:30 for those that need to get to work.
