Missio Dei Community Weekly Announcements:

Night of Prayer and Story
This Thursday, July 28th, will be our night of Corporate Prayer and Story. We will meet between 6:30pm and 8:00pm to pray together as a community as well as hear stories of how God has moved in the lives of our community. We will meet in Meeting Room C of the University Guest House, instead of the Post Chapel.

Missio Dei Annual Camping and Baptism Celebration
Missio Dei Community’s second annual summer camping trip is July 30-Aug 1 at Rock Port State Park. We have reserved a group campsite with tons of shade, grass, and room for tents. There will be a few coolers with cold drinks and breakfast provided on Sunday and Monday. Please note: on Sunday morning we will be doing our Corporate Worship gathering at the campground. There will be no worship gathering in Salt Lake City. That morning we will have breakfast for the entire community starting at 8am with worship, communion, and baptisms to follow. Feel free to come up for Sunday or to stay the whole time. We will check in at 3 pm on Saturday, July 30th. We are asking for a donation of $10 per individual or $20 for a family to cover costs of food and the camp site. However, it is not mandatory and we want everyone who can attend to be there. Missio Kids!
All Missio Kids now check in at the Chapel and join us for the first part of our service. The teachers and kids then move over to the Guest House. We believe that Kids are a blessing and a very important part of our community and are looking forward to not only modeling corporate worship for our kids but also celebrating Jesus with them! A check-in table will be set up at the Chapel for you to check your kids in.

Third Way Forums
Joe Cole’s class “Gospel Life” is currently on hiatus for 3 consecutive Sundays. It will resume the first Sunday in August.

Levi Rogers’ class ‘Reflection on Film and Spirituality’ meets every Tuesday. For information on Movies being shown, topics being discussed, and where each movie will be shown visit – http://missiodeislc.com/community/classes/

We tend to shy away from the topic of God’s wrath. Or when we do engage, we simply don’t like it. But God’s wrath puts his commitment to the covenant he’s made with us on display.

Please use the comment section below to discuss what type of camping gear, food, chairs, etc… you have extra of or what type of camping gear you are needing to borrow for the upcoming trip!

Also – If you are not on facebook or haven’t received the facebook invite could you go to this link and RSVP even if you are just going up on Sunday?  It will really help us in planning for the breakfast on Sunday.

While Moses is away meeting with God, the Israelites put all of their gold together to build something to worship. Our hearts are prone to do the same. God provides for us, reminds us of his love and commitment to us and we often respond by worshiping the work of our hands. Thankfully, even in our rebelliousness, God pursues us and reminds us of who he is.

God gave detailed directions to the Israelites for his tabernacle. By doing so, he’s moving toward a closer relationship with them. This is how God moves into their neighborhood and dwells with them. In it, we see God’s holiness and uniqueness and love for us.

God calls his people to get into a rhythm of rest. It seems that letting the crops lay fallow for a year would mean families would be hungry. But God uses the Sabbath to show his provision to his people.
