Josie Decker is hosting a clothing exchange this Saturday, May 28th, at 7pm at the Hillcrest Building. Anyone is welcome, for more information check out Josie’s facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156780877721148
The community dinner is back! Whenever a month has a fifth sunday we want to hang out after service and have dinner together. Because of our agreement with the University of Utah we can’t make this our typical pot luck affair. However, we will be getting sandwiches, sides, and drinks from one of their approved caterers. To offset the cost we would love it if you could donate 2-3$ per person, but if that is not possible please don’t let that prevent you from joining us. Weather permitting we will be both inside the chapel and at the park that sits next to it so feel free to bring chairs, blankets, toys, etc…
How is the Gospel lived out in every area of your life? How is the Gospel lived out in your heart, community and in the city God has called us to serve and love? On June 5th, we will begin a summer ‘Third Way’ series based on the Tim Keller book “Gospel in Life.” Joe Cole will be leading us through the eight week series as we look for what God is doing around us here in SLC and how He can do something new within us. The class will meet in the Post Chapel on Sunday mornings at 10:30. Child care will be provided, but please email info@missiodeislc.com and let us know how many children will be coming.
Volunteer Opportunity! Holding Out Help is having a huge yard sale to raise funds for their general operating costs and they need volunteers to help with a few different things. The yard sale is June 10 and 11 from 8am to 3 pm at Risen Life Church (2780 E 3900 S). They are looking for volunteers to:
-help with set-up at 6:30 am, particularly strong volunteers who can life and move heavy furniture
-help run the sale, sell items, collect money, etc… This will be in shifts throughout both days, people can sign up for 8-10, 10-1, or 1-3 on either day. (There is a chance lunch will be provided for volunteers.)
-when the sale is over on the 11th they will need people to help haul off the remaining items to donation centers, trucks for this would be helpful
If you are able to help, please email Jess Salazar jessicasalz0587@gmail.com. Thanks!
Read More...We are called to live lives of intercession. It’s a loaded word in Christian culture. It’s often only associated with prayer, but we see in Exodus 17 that God uses it on holistic scale. We are called to stand in the gap between God and those who don’t follow him.

In Exodus 16, God makes it clear that he will provide what they need when they need, but even still their rebellious hearts don’t understand.

On Sunday we will take 10% of our general offering and send it to specific churches who are administering aid in the tornado ravaged areas in the form of Target and Lowes gift cards. Along with taking 10% of the offering we will also have specific donation boxes available for you to give directly to the tornado relief effort.
