Hello Missio Dei Friends,
This is Levi from house church and just wanted to update you guys on the street youth outreach going down this week. If anyone is interested I will be meeting at the Northeast Corner of the Library (400 S 300 E) this Thursday, June 10th, at 6:00pm and from there proceed to walk around. This week we will not be focusing on trying to engage with the street kids much, if any. This week is focused on trying to give you some exposure to this new ministry.
As we walk the streets, we’ll talk about the vision of the ministry, and I’ll be answering any questions you may have. We want to walk with open eyes and examine the city around us; the suffering, needs, good parts etc. We will imagine what it would look like to take part in, and minister to, the community that lives in the area. We’ll do this for two reasons. First, simply to just get to know each other, what each others gifts/strengths are, what we are passionate about. Secondly, to examine the street culture in the area before going in with a grand plan and agenda of what needs to be done. Perhaps there will be something we see in the youth culture or in the city in general that we had never thought about before. We’ll probably end up doing this for the next month or so, and then create a more committed group of people who want to engage in both more relational and material (i.e. socks!) ways.
Here’s my number if you have any questions: 303-587-8650
Hope to see you there and hope everyone’s week is going well.
Love,
Levi
