As a community that values worship, we believe that calling ourselves to
attention before God in prayer is one of the most important things we can do.
This is subversive act, it is impractical, we will have not made money nor
produced anything we can show, yet this will transform us, slowly, bit by
bit. The more we are calling ourselves to be attentive to God, to respond to
him, the more we become aware of what we cannot see. As a new church, lets
take time to pray for one another, for our community, our city, and this
world. Join us this Thursday, July 1st at 6:30PM at the Costello’s house.

Below is our weekly update. Upcoming events include house church this Sunday (June 27th) where we’ll continuing our study through Ephesians, night of prayer at the Costello’s on Thursday (July 1st), a men’s hike on Saturday July 17th), and our first baptism on Sunday (July 25th).

As our community grows and morphs we are getting more and more questions about how (we as a community) can stay networked. Well we have a couple answers for that. First, the news link from this website will be your best source for everything that is happening news wise with Missio Dei Community.  We will update everything from corporate events to house church specific information here.  The best way to stay connected is by subscribing to the RSS feed or if you like to manually stay updated check back often. Second, follow @missiodeislc on twitter.  We will routinely update whats happening in the world of Missio Dei via twitter.  Next, there is Facebook.  Join our group page on Facebook called Missio Dei Community – Salt Lake City. Its an open group where you can post needs, find other Missio Dei folks, or just stay updated with the latest and greatest. Finally there is the time honored tradition of asking someone for their phone # or email address.  Its ancient and antiquated and you rarely get to use the word tweet or wall post, but its proven to work!

We wanted to get you the CONFIRMED dates for our Summer Celebration as soon as we got them!  We have a massive group campground reserved from Saturday, July 24th through Monday morning, July 26th at Jordanelle Reservoir.  The weekend will be an awesome opportunity for us as a community to hang out, have fun, and just enjoy each other.  On Sunday we will be worshipping together (there is an outdoor amphitheater) and celebrating with those who have chosen to be baptized.  If you have any questions about the trip; camping specifics, want to help put it together, want to talk about being baptized, etc.. please email kyle@missiodeislc.com or kevin@missiodeislc.com.  We will get you more information as it draws closer, but for now block your calendars and start getting the word out!

Below is our weekly video update for this week. Kyle takes a couple of minutes to prep you all for our study through Ephesians that will continue at house church on Sunday. He also announces our first baptism service! Many more details to come, but check out the video to see some footage of the baptism location, and clear your calendars for July 25th so you can join us up at Jordanelle for a day of celebration and relaxation. We will actually be camping up at there, and have 2 nights reserved, so if you want to camp either Saturday night, Sunday night, or both with us let us know. We’ve reserved a group site, and have plenty of room. See you all on Sunday!

Hello Missio Dei Friends,

This is Levi from house church and just wanted to update you guys on the street youth outreach going down this week. If anyone is interested I will be meeting at the Northeast Corner of the Library (400 S 300 E) this Thursday, June 10th, at 6:00pm and from there proceed to walk around. This week we will not be focusing on trying to engage with the street kids much, if any. This week is focused on trying to give you some exposure to this new ministry.
